Spectrum Sweater

Spectrum is a celebration of rainbows and colorwork, knit in luscious merino DK weight yarn. It is Ansel’s most ambitious knit-wear design yet, and took almost a year to construct in 2023 and 2024. The neon pastels are from SuperGlo Fibers, and the black and gray are from Malabrigo.

The slipstitch colorwork which forms the main section of Spectrum is intended to invoke the electromagnetic spectrum of light, as expressed through a tool such a spectrometer. Dice were used to determine which stripe pattern would be used for each section. The bioche ribbing forms a cozy cowl for warmth on even the chilliest of days!
