Trinket

Trinket is an exploration of the creativity and playfulness of PNW corvids. Created in 2024, Trinket will be displayed as part of the 2025 Birds of a Fiber Exhibition at the Quilt and Fiber Art Museum, in LaConner, WA, from Jan 22-March 23. Starting with textured watercolor paper, layers of watercolor paint and ink were used to provide the background for each feather, and then the paper was embroidered with a variety of materials to add contrast and depth. Some of the feathers are inspired by specific species, such as the Steller’s Jay, while one is inspired by turbulent wind currents.
